Supporting A Grieving Parent?
Supporting a grieving parent doesn’t have to be complicated , small gestures can mean the world.
Say their baby’s name: Acknowledge their child and their loss. It shows you see and honor the life that was loved.
Offer practical help: Tasks like cooking a meal, running errands, or caring for other children can give parents space to grieve.
Avoid minimizing statements: Phrases like “at least” or “you can try again” can unintentionally hurt. Instead, listen, validate feelings, and simply be present.
Even the simplest acts of care can make a parent feel less alone and more understood.
